Hello all you swell guys and gals, dames and gents! Ready for a nifty, grand ole’ time?! I’m so excited to start this blog featuring the best of the best of the Los Angeles vintage scene! We’re talking events, dancing, restaurants, bars, parties…you name it, you’ll find it here! Well before I get to distracted, let me formally introduce myself. My name is Marnee McClellan and I’ve lived in Los Angeles for about 4 years. I have always loved the glitz and glam of Hollywood, but nothing compares to the allure of the ‘classic Hollywood.’ The wonderful iconic movies, the beautiful movie stars, the devilishly handsome men and the clothing, music and cars of the 1920s-1950s. I always figured I was born into the wrong time period. However, there really is a wonderful vintage community right here in Los Angeles, California. Everyday (well, almost everyday) I’ll write a little bit about some of the best places to shop, eat, dance, drink and lounge in Los Angeles. There are some great retro, vintage and steampunk events that are coming up that range from California to Vegas, so they too will be discussed.
So gents put on your Fedoras and tie those neckties tight and ladies put on your dancing shoes and pin your hats! Because as Margo Channing (Bette Davis) said in All About Eve “Fasten your seatbelts, its going to be a bumpy night.”
